2023 "Muy Contento" Gamay Noir

We had an abundance of beautiful Gamay in 2023. Part of the crop was bottled very early and became the fizzy wine we released last year, “Muy Feliz”. The rest was put into a large puncheon, where it evolved and rested for nearly 18 months. This wine, “Muy Contento” is the result. The wine shows classic Gamay aromatics, with bright cherry fruit. There is also a hint of something deeper and more autumnal lurking, likely from the whole cluster fermentation. The wine is very fresh, but calm, reminding a little of a lighter Pinot Noir. The finish is delicious, with vibrant acidity. This wine was produced and bottled without added sulfites. 56 cases made. 10.8% abv.
