2023 Bride of Funky Drummer Red Blend

Continuing our series of fun and (somehow) serious red Rhone-style blends, “The Bride” is composed of 55% Mourvedre, 21% Grenache, 14% Counoise and 10% Tannat. The wine was blended during the 2023 harvest, with the various components added to the master wine as picking progressed. Everything was whole cluster fermented, and pressed into several Flextanks for finishing and malolactic fermentation. Later, the wine was racked into small, think-staved Bordeaux barrels for final elevage. The wine has a deep color, with the unmistakable aromas of both the Mourvedre and Grenache – a classic combo! The Counoise adds a pepperiness and lift, while the Tannat provides structure and balancing acidity. So, a real spicy stew of flavor! A perfect match of Fall and Winter dishes. 15ppm sulfites added at bottling. 56 cases produced. 13.2% abv
